About the Coven

The Coven of the Albino bat was officially formed in January, 2005. It is led by Lady Metta and Lord Eldraun, and is located in Tonawanda, NY. Meetings are bi-weekly in observance of the new and full moons. The coven is accepting new members, provided certain qualifications are met.

This is the home coven of the Clan of the Knotted Ash.

About Lady Metta

Lady Metta found Wicca in the summer of 1989. After spending three years studying and practicing as a solitary, she started taking lessons from Lady Silver RavenWolf and joined her women’s healing circle. The healing circle worked together for a few years and then expanded and became the Black Forest Clan, a nationally known Wiccan organization. During that time period, Lady Metta received her third degree, and earned the title of Elder within the Black Forest Clan.

In December of 2004, Lady Metta left the Black Forest Clan to form the Clan of the Knotted Ash with her husband, Lord Eldraun.

About Lord Eldraun

Since 1985 I have been fascinated with ritual and energy work and have spent many years learning about different paths. In the beginning, what I studied was of a darker nature and with that experience I learned a lot about myself, my needs, and my capabilities. It also showed me what I was missing in my spirituality. Since the Universe provides, I have always been presented with the right people at the right time.

A chance encounter in the mid 90’s led me to the teacher who introduced me to the Goddess and the ability to work within the duality of spirituality. I advanced while studying with her into a more balanced individual but still allowed my then - current lifestyle to hinder my true growth. In 1998 through the internet I found a pagan community in the town I live in. It was through this community that I was able to become owner of The Buffalo Pagans list serve and meet a new group that was forming through the first “official” 101 that I was attending. My participation in that group led me to be introduced to the Georgian and Gardnerian Traditions. At which time I received my 1st degree in the Gardnerian Tradition. After a time, a few of the group members started doing open holidays for the Buffalo community.

In early 2000 most of that group had moved on and I found myself doing the opens alone or with volunteer help. These opens continued on and off until 2005. It was at this time in 2000 that I was invited to meet with a coven led by Lady Metta, within Lady Silver Ravenwolf’s Black Forest Clan. A fter a few meetings I was asked if I was interested in joining. This began my time within Black Forest. At the same time I started teaching 101 classes out of a local shop and later out of our home. I received my Third Degree elevation in the summer of 2003 and enjoyed the training and exposure to the Craft that I received while I was within that organization.

In late 2004 Lady Metta and I left the Black Forest Clan and started the Clan of the Knotted Ash.
