The coven, officially formed following Lughnassadh 2009, is led by Lord Rath, is based out of Alexandria, Virginia and serves the greater Washington D.C. area. The Black Vultures honor the Tuatha De Danaan as well as the Aesir and Vanir. The coven’s work is influenced by the martial arts, yoga and ceremonial magick. The coven's goal is to foster the overall spiritual and magickal development of ourselves, and those who seek us out. The coven is accepting new members provided certain qualifications are met. Lord Rath came to the Church after 16 years of both solitary and varying levels of coven practice. He was Dedicated to the Coven of the Albino Bat in the Winter of 2005. He received his Third Degree in the Spring of 2008, and is currently enrolled in the Clergy Training Program.
Lord Rath presently leads Open Holiday Rituals at Sacred Circle Bookshop in Alexandria, Virginia. He has also led ritual for the Moonfire CUUPS group. He has taught public workshops on Witchcraft 101, Fundamentals of Pagan Meditation, and Introduction to Norse Cosmology and Ritual Practices.
